Description
An Artichoke variety softneck garlic that grows very well in northern states. This softneck garlic with it’s tight coarse skins around it’s cloves and also favored for its strong aroma and sharp flavor that stand up extremely well when cooked. Very high-yielding plants are some of the cold-hardiest of softnecks. Large bulbs are covered in silky skins with purple/red streaks and spots. This is an excellent storing garlic.
As the story is told by numerous reports, this garlic was discovered at a Romanian farmers market in the late 1990’s and as told this garlic was growing in the Transylvanian Mountains.
It is native to Central Asia and has been cultivated for over 5,000 years.
