Description
Inchelium Red is a large artichoke garlic with a robust flavor but not so strong as to be overpowering. Inchelium Red usually has anywhere from 10 to 12 very large cloves and with the interior cloves being in good size. Due to the outer bulb wrappers which are thick giving good protection making this a good storing garlic.
Found growing on an Indian Reservation in Inchelium, Washington. The true origin of Inchelium garlic is unknown, found originally on the Colville Indian Reservation in Inchelium, Washington. It has been identified as the oldest strain of garlic grown in North America, having been grown far before the arrival of English settlers.
