Artichoke type. Named for a town in Northern Italy. A very large and impressive softneck artichoke named after its city of origin in Northern Italy. This variety is very adaptable and grows in a variety of climates. Its tight coarse tunics make for a long storage life of up to 6 months. Blanco Piacenza is an excellent choice for braiding and is a reliable producer with high yields everywhere but the harshest winter areas. Produces a medium well-rounded flavor and heat.
