We have added a few dried garlic products. We’ve taken the Northern and German Red hardneck garlic and broken them down into individual cloves, removed the skins, put them through a commercial culinary slicer (2 mm thick). The fresh sliced garlic is then dried at a low temperature for 24 to 36 hours, then 4 ounces of dried sliced garlic go into containers that are sealed with a heat shrink band to preserve freshness and to make it tamper proof. Planting garlic does require soil preparation starting in the spring well before October planting. Once you have located the area for your future garlic seed bed which has good drainage, garlic does not like being in wet areas. I recommend have the soil tested. Testing the soil will tell you what the soil is lacking or has too much of something. Testing is done by gathering a cup or so of soil from different parts of the future growing area then submit the soil to testing facilities which are available online.
